Hit the North Winter Sprinter

Organisers of 12 hour race are back with a winter warmer

The organisers of the inaugural Hit the North 12-hour race are back with a two-hour mid-winter enduro dubbed the Winter Sprinter, on 7 February 2009.

The Winter Sprinter is a two-hour-plus-one-lap event on a course around Philips Park and Waterdale, North Manchester. The course is described as “having a bit of everything,” with some hardpack, woodland singletrack, tarmac sections, timber decking and a few steps.

In an attempt to keep the costs down there will be no camping or shower, but hot food and drinks will be served. For a musical twist with an authentic Northern flavour, a local brass band has been hired.

Profits from the race all go to charity, BTCV, who work at maintaining the British countryside including Philips Park.
