Many years ago I really wanted a Fat Chance but couldn't afford one (I actually ordered a medium and Evolution sent up an extra large - I would have to wait three months for a medium so I bought something else).
A few years ago Fat Chance went down the pan.

And no Ibis going that way too. Makes me feel quite sad to think that these company's who were there at the start arn't going to be there anymore.

Unfortunately, while I would dearly love one of these frames I can't justify it to myself, or Mrs Messiah.

I didn't think that Fat Chance died so much as mutated. Didn't their framebuilding staff move to Merlin (US)?

Odd that Ibis seem to have been more or less taken over by Strong Frames for a few months and have now gone bust cos Carl Strong has dropped them.

Odd cos no-one over here has ever heard of Strong Frames. Check out www.strongframes.com and particularly the reviews on mtbr.

Strong owners seem even happier than Ibis owners.

I think I've heard of Strong frames - custome frames in a variety of different materials (including Scandum), IIRC. Is that the one?

Its a shame to see a company like ibis go under. That aside though will existing ibis bikes / frames be worth more? Has this happened to other bikes whose makers have dissapeared? Will these bikes increase in value as there becomes less of them!

John Chapman, think youve got your wires crossed as Merlin got bought by Litespeed, and many of their builders jumped ship and went to people like I.F.

Mon a Log, I think Strong also build frames for other boutique folks, they do either the front or rears of a lot of full sussers.
