Tyres good in the Nevada desert are not necessarily what I need this weekend.
Kinda of tyres I ride so sounds good to me.

Not that I'm a michelin fan, the ones I bought didn't stop on the bike long.

Sounds like a headline from an adult web site, but I agree not a Michelin fan prefer Conti's

Hmmmm, would have been more useful to hear how they coped with mud.

But then if I was going to get flown to the US to play with kit, then I wouldn't be too fussed!!

With global warming and each of us in our relatively low impact sport trying to do our bit I would have thought the chaps would have told Michelin that the conditions out in the USA were so far removed from UK reality that it really wasn't a good idea to spend the world's finite resources on a pointless freebie and thanks but no.... but perhaps not.

"Tyres good in the Nevada desert are not necessarily what I need this weekend."

You are absolutely right Timl!
Just did a weekend in the Quantocks with hub-deep mud and slippy wet roots and rocks - makes Nevada seem even more distant...

I think I should point out that this tyre launch was for the worldwide press so it would be impossible to find a location that replicated the conditions in every country the tyre will be sold! Lets face it, if you offer the journo's the option of a trip to Nevada or some snow-covered trails in the UK in early-February then I think we all know which one will be more popular! I'm sure the journalists that were priviledged enough to be invited on this trip will be testing the tyres thoroughly in their local conditions and reporting on the findings in due course which will obviously be more apllicable to you guys!

Yes don't worry all. We'll be testing the tyres in typical UK trails very soon and let you know how they cope.

And judging by my ride on Saturday, that means hub deep mud at the moment - sure beats the dust and rocks of Bootleg Canyon...

Are they doing these tyres in tubeless versions ? I've been trying to source tubeless tyres in 2.35 width and it seems that nearly all of the manufacturers are discontinuing them. I've ended up ordering Maxxis Ignitors - not what I really wanted but thats about all I could get. Why when tubeless seems to be getting more popular are so many manufacturers walking away from the format for anything other than XC tyres.
