What are those circles about?!
Show/hide user stats
The circles are an art installation, visible as you come off Minch Moor on the XC loop at Innerleithern

Cheerios ?

Interesting comment by Seb about the picture with the guy jumping. He says, as a professional, he likes pictures where you can't see what is being jumped. That goes some way to explain magazine shots that don't tell the whole picture of how big a drop is,what the landing is like, was the run in good etc.
This bugs the sh1t out of me !! Show me the whole area, let me decide if its a good stunt or not,not leave me guessing. arrrggghhh.

i guess i don't now art when i see it ;¬)

He actually says in the article that he likes the fact that you CAN see whats being jumped over ?

lol at myself ,that'll teach me to scan read, poorly.

Still why do they,(pros),take so many shots were you can't see what the hell is going on?
Show/hide user stats
Cos it leaves it to the viewers imagination

I agree to JD's comment tho. There is a pic of me in one of the Bike Magazines (cant remember which one). It's just an article about the twentyfour12 event last year.

It shows people pushing their bike, except me. I remember it well and I'm riding down a foot deep drop in thick mud. But the way the photo has been taken , it makes it look like I am riding a flat section and I am just about to go over the bars!

"I could be wrong, but this looks like remote flash to me - and it's quite nicely done."

I knew Seb was obsessed with this. Its such a fad, i've lost all respect i had for the guy.

I'm sure he'll be gutted.

Seb doesn't do fads, he does getting the job done. He's not what you'd call an early adopter ;-)

Gutted or not, hes a journeyman whos made a name for himself in a niche.

That's quite a chip you've got on your shoulder there, Steve.

Woooohoooo :)

Cheers BikeMagic & Seb, glad you liked the pic!

No chip on my shoulder. I've no particular plans to leave my news photography career behind for doing MTB photos. But if i did... nevermind.

Does us a favour Steve, put some of your work up so we can have a go :)

Anyway, well done everyone who's taken a prize.

Just wondering, is there a collection of all the entries available so we can see the standard? Or would that reveal that there were only 12 entries and judging wasn;t quite as tough as we might think? :)
