Nice Zaskar, that would look so pimp with Pace forks, as everyone knows, black bikes are faster!

Its good to see the old legend back and looking wicked. i rode a zaskar whilest woring in a bike shop yrs ago and thought it was brillant. just wish i had the monnies to get the latest creation.

ok i've just found my next bike, that zaskar! it'll replace the 1996 anodised blue one i have stashed away in my parents garage nicely

Its a lot of new bike to leave stashed in your parents garage.

Was the Zaskar picture taken in the Blue Peter garden?

A nice variety of backdrops for the GT bike pics - where abouts were they all taken?

I rather like the sound of the ltd edition alu Zaskar. They were lovely bikes.

David, what's the anodised blue one doing sitting in a garage then?! And by "replacing it" do you mean you'll buy one to store in your parents' garage too?!

The launch was in Engelberg, Switzerland. In an ideal world I'd have riding and nice static shots of everything. However, in the real world I end up with a random assortment of some bikes in Alpine meadows and some in hotel car parks ;-)

Quite impressed by the new range. Had never considered a GT before.

Oooh, blue Zaskar! Mine's in the garage too ! it's a 99 one tho, just a polished Alu one... Still my all time fave bike

I never got on with my 2000 WC coloured Zaskar. Often wonder if it was the wrong size. I loved my steel Karakorum, proudly hung in the garage. I love my Lightning, proudly rode when not kept in the kitchen.

May be the size, they came up a bit odd. I had to get 16" in the end which was a touch small but the next size up was a monster!

Mmm.... more GT's for mew to buy, could be my fifth, sixth and if I'm going to be really greedy seventh.

So far I've had

A '92 Team Avalanche (that Tange steel tubing was amazing at the time and I still have the frame),

A '95 (I think) RTS3 - I still miss that bike sometimes. I had a new rocker made up to give it a whole 4" of travel!!!

A '96 Zaskar LE in birght yellow with full XTR kit,

ID5 1.0 (my current ride).

I think I see a pattern building up here....

i have judt brought my first GT after owning a trek for 9 yrs. I have now got a 2007 Avalanche 1.0 Disc. I think it is an awesome piece of kit for the money. took a little getting used to but now i love it. good frame to build on in the future

Took a split second for me to realise that I was staring at pictures of my next bike here. I've just spent a year makign expensive upgrades to the alu GT frame I have and all I need is that carbon frame!

But, will the frame be available alone? Anyone know?

I have been trying to decide between a new carbon bike to replace my 1992(?) alu Pantera. The choice was between a Giant xtc and an Orbea alma, the alma feeling like the front runner and then I saw the Zaskar carbon - plans changed

But I have been unable to find any info on when I will be able to get hold of one - next month? autumn? Christmas? 2008? any ideas anyone
