First rides: Marin Mount Vision and Attack Trail
2008 sees a tweaked MV and an all-new, longer-travel platform - we've had a good thrash on them both

The 08 is a very different (but also top) bike.

I like the sound of the Attack Trail, not sure bout the XT brakes tho, I'd probably prefer a set of Formula's or Hope's on it, any ideas on weight?

Not exactly, until a production one shows up. Attack Trail is in the low 30s somewhere. And I'd take '08 XT brakes over Formulas or Hopes any day of the week

I'm not normally a looks person,  but can't stand the huge wide fat shock pivots right in the middle of the frame.

I demo'd a 06 RockSprings,  really wanted it on paper and good price,  but in practice hated the feel of the rear end, over active or something and the rear end was just floppy, and steered itself all over the place.  Sprokkits Quad also steered all over the shop!!

So although I hope and bet they've improved the 08's I'd bet, still not a bike for me,

I think the swingarm/shock packaging on these Marins is a brilliant peice of design, could collect mud potentially but its a very tidy setup.

I suppose it may raise the CoG a bit.

If i was in the market i'd look long and hard at one of those. As it is there's plenty of life left in my 06 Wolf Ridge.

I'm a looks person, thats why I just bought a 06 Mount Vision frame, from before Marin went all curvy.
