I met 'Mule-Bar' jimmy at this year's Megavalanche. He's a really nice bloke who truly believes in his product.

I had a couple (Pinacolada and Chocolate Fig Fiesta) and can testify that they are indeed very nice. You need a big drink of water to help them on their way.

Fuel wise - I cant fault them. I went from a dehydrated shaking mess, to steady-handed pro (<ahem> in about 20 mins after half a Mule choccy bar. I may not have finished the Mega were it not for this, so I'm very grateful to  jimmy for the freebies.

These bars are really good met jim and alex at transscotland and there bars have certainly been a real good boost to events all round proper food which tastes as good as it works. The best energy product Ive used on the market for endurance events including marathon world cups, mountain mayhem 24hr and cheddar bikefest.  hunza nut and choc rule.

Looking on there website i see there fairly local to me, and all my usual lbs's stock them so does the camping shop 5 mins walk from my office, so when i've got 10 minutes i'll pop in one of the shops and buy a few to sample.

Anyone who's tested them what do you think of them in comparison to say a clif bar ?

maxim bars are terrible, energy wise they're as much use as, erm......a chocolate teapot. I've tried mulebars during several big endurance races and they're really good

Chocolate Fig Fiesta sounds great!  Dried figs are great trail food, add chocolate and you must be on a winner.

Yes, I tried these bars at the Mega as well, handed out to me by Jimmy wearing a crazy t-shirt.

The Mango ones are fantastic, and give you a real hit of fruit that is such a change from the processed garbage you get in other bars... Try them

Not bad  i'm sat here muching a Pinacolada, good flavour i'd say a little flourery in places, but what a hit of fruit blooming heck its strong, feels sticky to the touch but doesnt leave your mitts all sticky. easy to digest after a bit of chewing, leaves a nice fruit after tatse in ones mouth.

It's a lot nicer than most bars i've had, next time i'm passing the local camping shop i'll try another flavour

chocolate fig fiesta is not as bad as i thought it would be ,.... quite tasty actually ... of course the figures on the back dont suggest its any more nutritional than a maxim bar when you look at them side by side but mulebars do seem to be slightly more rich in taste which is nice !

I've tried these and I'm definitely giving them the thumbs up. They're just not heavy and tasteless like other energy bars

Mango tango's damn good but it's got to be the Pina Colada for me. Keep up the good work!

I'm currently conducting my own tatse tests on a a large range of bars and the mulebar and the clif bars are the only two so far i'd buy again, but i've a few more to test first.
