Great footage - I found Rob Warners commentary passion hilarous - I turned it up!! As for poor old Peaty - you know i will chew him being the competitor he is - to win at 35 next year would be truely incredible.

But what of the XC - Killeen rises from nowhere to take 4th - how the hell did that happen!

You've gotta feel bad for Steve, but that does nothing to detract from how much Gee wanted it.  You watch the vid and there are lines that he is taking that are so so risky - deserved of rainbow stripes for sure.  Fantastic for Rach as well, showing she is in a class of her own now as well when she is on a course that suits her.  Obviously a pity that Dan couldn't have a crack in the 4 X.................

Kudos to Josh as well!  Though I can't find the full junior results on the UCI site, did Gump get second?

I felt more Sorry for Sam Hill, that dude was flying  and then to come off at the last..if only it didnt take him 5 seconds to get up from a stack, dust himself and get on his bike,  but he still make 2nd or 3rd (cant remember which). Gee was picking fast lines, but Sam was just hitting the one ...straight line down!

Sam Dale was second in juniors.

yeah Sam Hill lost the world championship rather that gee winning it...then again Gee didn't fall off so maybe he did.

Did two new British World Champions make the evening news?

Don't be silly - the BBC are dedicated to bringing you the best and brightest in World Sport, sadly they don't view MTB racing AS a sport so wouldn't bother to mention the fact and you can guarantee that come Sports Personality of the year a Mountain Biker won't get a look-in.

It'll be another overpaid footballer or some bloody cricketer.

Gee won, Sam couldn't hold it. Sad but doesn't detract from Gees win in anyway.

If I was Jared Graves I'd find that Frenchman and kick his ass though. I know 4X is meant to be rough but that was stupid riding. Stupid. No way he deserved bronze for that.

Gives me an idea for a thread...

You reckon we can get Steve Peat, Gee Atherton, Rachel Atherton to be sports personality of the year?

It's all down to public votes right?

Start here get it, going on FaceSpace I totally reckon it could be done...

In theory it's all down to votes from the public but the BBC do retain the right to veto any nomination they don't think is suitable. With this being an Olympic year I'd expect a lot of sprinters, rowers and others from sports that actually get some coverage to be nominated.

Totally worth a go I guess, couldn't exactly hurt. I know MBUK tried to get Peaty the win when he first became World Champ but I'm not sure what came of it.

Steve's never been World Champ.

Apologies for my failure to give him his correct title:

World Cup Champion.

Aye it's do-able. Peaty got an invite before with public votes (read internet bikers).

Challenge for the weekend then

Can someone advise Freecaster to stop Warner partaking of quite so much Stella while he's supposed to be commentating? I admire enthusiasm but...
