Can we all say 'fugly'? Nice gold accents although I'd expect solid bloomin' gold for £7149 and a sub 18lb weight! Are Scott & Merida having a battle to see who can make the most ridiculously overpriced bike?

Can we all say 'fugly'? really? and there was me thinking it looked rather nice. maybe i need to get my eyesight checked
Much nicer than the old ones, I'm getting a JPS F1 car vibe from that. "Perfect geometry and cinematic" I don't get that though
A lot nicer than the old ones, but a lot of travel and very light weight does not make a great bike...
but a lot of travel and very light weight does not make a great bike... hopefully we'll find out as soon as BM can arrange a test ride
I quite like that. Any idea if it's going to be available as a frame only?
After looking closely I just don't get it. Don't suppose anyone has detail shots from the other side or of the suspension system do they?
IWH, just for clarification, you know they use pull shocks, right?
Nevermind I wasn't sure Mike, that's part of what was confusing me. Looking at the photo in the article that shows where the shock mounts it looked like it was directly to the swingarm - but that was the front mech limit screws *ahem* Confusion cleared up and I actually think that in the above photo it looks very nice. Still, £7149?
I've got another pic of the shock somewhere, let me dig it ou. But yup, it's a pull-shock the models further down the range are better priced, but still use the same frame.

Hmmmm, bit of an odd one. 150mm is a lot of travel for a "trail bike" and if you're doing the sort of riding to warrant 150mm surely you want something a little burlier and more relaxed??
those DT carbon rims are pure pron though
indeed, but wouldn't last a day in the Peaks..you should see mine..scratched and dented to f00k..
Thanks David, that would be great. (I do like to learn ) I think part of my issue over the price is wondering were it actually goes if they all use the same frame... £7149 is $15,000 - that's 3 GOOD bikes (Mojo WTF, Yeti ASRc XTR, Intense Spider FRO) It'll be very interesting to see what the US price is now it'll be released out there.
it's certainly not cheap. the DT Swiss XRC carbon rims are abotu £550 each. Those DT hubs are about £300 the pair. So in just the wheelset, you're looking about abou £1,500 alone. That Noir chainset, another £300. It's all pricey gear, and soon adds up. But if you must have the lightest...
£7149 is $15,000 - that's 3 GOOD bikes (Mojo WTF, Yeti ASRc XTR, Intense Spider FRO) Damn true - i'd take one Mojo WTF and be happy!!!!! And you'd have enough change for 11 vauxhall vectras too
or you could buy one of the lower down the range Genius bikes and still have lots of change left over...
And buy 2 other bikes with the money you 'save'. I like the way you think!
Can we all say 'fugly'? Yes, Fugly. They have turned a slightly quirky, weird looking bike into a gimp.
And can I jump on the £7149 OMFG! Bandwagon please.
Anyone who buys one of those and isn't a professional racer had better have VERY thick skin because they'll just get the piss taken out of them for ever. All together now, "All the gear...................." lol
