That's one nice retro bike. There is something special about certain vintage bikes, they capture a spirit of adventure and discovery.

Stunning, right down to the Bullseyes
 Very pretty!
the mans mental, but in a good way. That is one serious bit of bike history!
Bikes like that make me feel funny in a special place
That was one of THE bikes to own back in the early 90s.Back in the day there were only a few makes of bike that were truly awesome and had that awe about them, nowadays the MTB media just seems to try and attach this tag to everything it reviews. Having a retro bike is like having an E-Type Jaguar or a Jensen Healey, they have something that a new car just hasn't got.

How I used to want a Tioga DiskDrive wheel.
they were shocking to be fair....I lusted after one and eventually got one for my RTS1... WAS CONSTANTLY HAVING IT TRUED UP.... sold it in the end via MBUK classifieds in the back of the mag...used to take about 2 months to sell summat....ah, the day!
Oh I know. Noisy as well, that telltale rumble was a real giveaway. still wanted one though.
I wanted one but only ever got one of those muddy fox stick on jobbies, made a load of noise but I thought it was the dogs doo dars at the time.
 My Courier Comp had one
My mate folded his Tioga but that could've been down (at least in part) to me not having a clue back then how to keep it tensioned *ahem* That bike is absolutely, 100%, thigh strokingly lovely. Ere Mister - can I have a go?
I just dont get the love. Yes its a lovely looking bike with an impressive story. But it aint gonna be ridden and if it does it wont perform any better than a £3-400 bike you could get today. Bikes are for riding, not hanging on walls. That said, an amazing story.

 You've got no soul

I have to say that generally I'm in Hobo's camp on the whole "retro collectible" thing, but this is something else - the originals are stunningly rare (but famous), and the work that's gone into putting this example together is amazing. Mike says he will ride it, occasionally, on nice days. Possibly with a different fork and tyres, though It's got me wanting something new but in an old style - rigid (but proper rigid, like a sub-400mm long fork, none of this suspension-corrected cobblers, flat bars, all that. And skinwall tyres.
Skinwall tyres just look the dogs. My rigid experiment was a revelation...the bike flew like a rocket but it was just downright painful on descents like "The Wall" I honestly preferred riding that bike but it was a fairly solo activity as I really did have to put the anchors on descents, just couldn't keep up with people with normal forks on.
Skinwall tyres just look the dogs. Aye. For one ride
Nowt wrong with flat bars at all, for the more experienced/capable rider who does not need a wider bar to compensate.......
