I'll be about due some new shifters and mechs by the end of the year. I'll start saving. Bet they don't do 8 speed though :(

Have they dropped the indicator from the shifters with the adjustable clamp?

wow the 2007 x-9 looks nice.
Mmmmmmn, yummy, I want some, but as Alan says they probably won't come in 8spd...

:(

I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of indicator windows on the shifters. Maybe there's some other cunning window equivalent, like those things XTR shifters have over the cable.

In my experience, SRAM 9 speed stuff is a bit less finickity than Shimano's. I haven't had any real experience with 8 speed though so I can't compare it with that.

why is everyone worried about the indicator? surely you can tell what gear you are in just look between you legs. simple!
You can tell ifyou're in the rightgear by how it feels

I like 8 speed Pete but maybe the time to go to 9 has arrived

I aint worried about the indicators, just seemed an obvious change probably worthy of note if it has been dropped.

Afterall, I only use indicators when setting up or to check position when refitting chain or wheel.

Its the kind of thing which will bother some poeple though.

I never used to worry about them, but I've now got them I use them. Saying that, if they weren't there, I wouldn't.

Stands to reason I suppose...

Hmm.

Just put it in the lowest gear to be sure!

I'm guessing Shimano MIGHT be going 10 speed. I have no proof whatsoever... but there are supposedly going to be some changes to XTR this year, and you know how Shimano seem to do everything wrong these days.

was thinking of getting x9 in the next month or so, may have to hold it off for a while then!!
