I like the look of the chainset

I wonder if the all mountain wheelset will have an adaptor to run a standard quick release on the front - for upgrading later on to 20mm forks if you dont already have them...

Impressed by what the brakes say they do if that is case then it's a very nice feature. (do other brake systems have this fast then slow movement?)

The servo-wave thing is the only thing that really excites me about the whole XT relaunch TBH, I often get pissed off with 'zinging' when the rotors are passing too close to the pad.

That said, I don't think XT is meant to be exciting, it's meant to be functional.

XTR excites you then ?
Also like the idea of the Lever, will see if it works well in use though ofcourse, Guess it won't be available to september +

Likely the Sales guys are hyping it and the R&D guys are having nitemares trying to make it a reality :)

Steel teeth on the middle ring. Who says Shimano build in obsolescence? I think a fair few of those bits will be on my bike before long. Shimano look to be back on the right track.
Just steel and skip that carbon fibre spider crap, all that cost for 12grams or something, sadness.

Oi! whoever cut's it let's the other take the biggest half.
I had pizza tonight :) in exchange for a £240 graphics card 12months back, but hey pizza.

Will them XT rings be able to fit to my 2006 XT chainset? TBH if they arent a reasonable cost dylan has a point about all steel. Deore rings must be the most sensible thing dylan ever mentions ;-)

Am i the only one that only ever really pays attention to the asthetics of the chainset. The gears & brakes can look as fugly as it wants but the chainset is the one i always take notice of. IMO its not a good looker this time, but then i dont think the XTR one is either. As long as the gears & brakes work that matters more than what they look like.

I like em' but I only fitted a new (oldstyle) XT chainset this week so I won't be getting one for a while....

I think the chainset looks 'flat'. A bit retro, but not retro enough to be retro.
