Nice how they tagged the £99 onto it since the MBR Article.

Still a nice looking good VFM bike though,  I'll be looking at them seriously when available.

Whats the different between the Pike 351 and 327 anyone ??

Ahhhh thats something I care about unlike the rear shock where I prefer the Manitou.

This is the bike I'm seriously interested in for 2008.

I see this as a worthy successor to my 2004 Enduro, the theory is to take all the gubbins from my current bike (including my Pike Airs) and transplant to a Pitch Pro....  The lower specced bits then get put on the old frame which is then sold on.  That's the plan anyway.

The only fly in the ointment is the God-awful colours Spesh insist on painting their bikes this year...  What's wrong with good old matt black?

Do we know anything about spec, asides from the suspension?

Pro has Avid Juicy 3 brakes, SRAM X-9 transmission and Shimano M532 cranks, which are a kind of Deore-level HTII setup. Comp has Hayes Stroker Ryde brakes and Octalink cranks.

I was thinking along similar lines myself- been thinking about going to six inches for a wee while now but couldn't justify spending another 2000-odd quid on something decent...this could be right up my street!

Anyone got any ideas about weight?

Paul,  tin of hammerite will solve and be a good security measure

Comp is still winning for me there Mike.

I'll do some part swaps the same as Paul and sell the GT on ofcourse,  so not to crucial there.

Depends if the GT can remain Creak free and those Pivot points stop working there way loose though.

Guessing Spec wise 31-32lb's,  the Enduro SL Comp for £1599 or something is @29lbs,  the Pro for £2000 @28lb's ( without pedals or air in tyres no doubt )

Well as a longstanding Spesh owner, I've never had issue with pivots loosening or an unreasonable amount of shock bushings die.

A custom paint job (ie not f~ing bronze, blue or the delightful shade of "infection yellow" that statesiders will get with their Pitch Pros) might be factored in, given that I've spent a small fortune colour coding everything on my existing bike blue/black.

It sounds compelling, I could literally transplant everything from one bike to the other...  I wonder how much my Enduro is worth with all the brand new Pitch Pro bits?

As for weight, it's been quoted as "not the lightest six-incher" around, which could mean anything from 30-33lb I guess.  Given that I'd be looking to transplant, the frame weight is more of an interest to me.

for the price quoted that doesn't sound too bad...I could keep my Sworks enduro for "normal" all day-type runs in the hills, then could take that down to the fun park at 'tress....hmm.

Want the Kona with Magic Link,  Can afford the Pitch maybe!!

The pot-belly on that thing is ridiculous.  I see that having more room to fettle round the BB/Shock Mount is a good thing, but Christ.  Any bigger, you'd be hitting it on obstacles!

At the risk (and accurate) sound of being biased, I prefer the aesthetics of my 2004 bike, with it's swoopy curves and sleek lines.

Actually, why the bloody hell do I want to replace it?

like I say- been looking for upping my travel for a while now - currently have an 04 enduro sworks with rc40s at the front- think I'd be wasting my money buying one of these then?

I ride at tress, Carron valley- the odd big days out in the hills, around aviemore etc...I like having a go at anything but have felt a bit underequipped going round the funpark at tress- maybe this would enlarge my cojones a bit?

PS- I might be able to get a decent discount through my work so would poss be looking at the more expensive model for about 1100...hmmm

I used to run an RC40 on my Enduro, but never really gelled with it.  Swapping to the Pike however transformed the bike, slackening the geometry a tad and making the bike MUCH more confident on the gnarly stuff.

Whether the Pitch is a better bike is a good question though...  I'm hoping to ride a Pitch soon for a definitive answer, but on paper it ticks a great many boxes for me.  I wonder how it would ride with a coilover shock?

To be honest I generally haven't  tested or ridden a lot of different forks- had 100mm dukes on it before (transferred from my old rock hopper) so the RC40s seemed amazing when I put them on....I've heard good things bout the pikes in general but I like the fact that the RC40s are pretty light considering..

The "top tube" curve on it does remind me slightly of the shape on the SC nomad though- eerie!

let me know how you get on with the pitch when you get to throw a leg over it!

The 4bar likely wouldn't suite a Coil Over sadly!!

I'll be borrowing the Demo Pitch if my LBS gets one as soon as to.

top tube of the enduro I meant....whoops

I use a Romic on my Enduro on occasion, which feels absolutely bloody marvellous.  The suspension feels very plush and almost bottomless in comparison to the Fox Float.

The linkage on the Pitch is supposed to give a more linear feel according to the blurb, hence my brainwave...

Still full of crapola then Dyl.    Why on earth wouldn't a coil shock suit a 4-bar?  The most confidence inspiring bike I've ever ridden was a Turner 5 spot with a Romic coil shock on it and it was bloody marvellous.
