Here For £25 area 600 realistic lumens!! Basically 4 SSC P4 240lumen LED's packed into 1 and they pump out 150lumens each really through the front anyway, hence 600lumens. Amazing they haven't started using the P7's in lights, a Twin P7 setup would be sweet ( ordering 2nd P7 torch soon ) , but it would draw 20 - 24 watts so back to Halogen run times. This light will draw @12watts so similar to a HID's draw.

i'm a bit weary of the heat given out from the p7's, though 4 p4's on separate dies is definately going to waste more
Edit: also, only 70m for the p7 torch? I'd have to change it a good few times in one ride alone! non rechargeable too. the bike lights are expensive for what they are, but they do what they're designed to do, well.

My torch isn't that big and yeah it gets hot without air flow, damn good hand warmer but never gets hot enough to be a problem, with airflow it stays cool, and I've offed it took the top off and the LED real quick and that area isn't really hot to the touch so it's bleeding it well. Will be comparing to a HID tommorow to see how it fairs CREE MCE's are what your after, 750lumen, but they shouldn't waste as much, make less of a flood light but better range, should start shipping soon and be in cheap torchs in 2 - 3 months i bet Ordering a 2nd 1 for a mate, so I will be trying 2 out before I hand it over

70mins+ and still going using rechargeable batterys Mike, takes sub 1min if the battery is in your top to change, I'll switch it off and climbs anyway so guess I'll get 2hour+ out of it. Problem is I frequently night ride for longer than 3hours, okay could use medium or something on that or buy another cell that plugs in, but prefer to have a few extra batterys in the rucksack for a quick change. Phasing out my CR123a's here, moving to 18650's which are just 2400mah versions of the CR123a's, much less hassle, all protected to.

 Interesting stuff!

Just fitted this and it kicks out some serious light IMHO Not sure if you can still get them but way better than P7's
no batterys to recharge either, just carry a litre or 2 of unleaded in your rucksack and keep riding!!
Not unleaded - acetylene. The canister is full of calcium carbide, just add water to get bright white light!
could you imagine the carnage if you crashed and spilt calcium carbide on your self. that would hurt!!
oh and i found dylan that tourch by the way.

It's your fault I'm skint then Serge for passing on the DX Site Fighting the Urge to order myself a 2nd P7 for day light brightness here

i like the review! my diy light kicks ass, much better then my mates use double led unit, although i do have an external battery pack. but hey i do not have the power to make a custom lithium ploymer battery shape.

Lupines got a new one out aswell soon @£300 alledegly, called the Tesla, 700lumens 12watt draw, it's a P7 but with a better reflector. Pics Here slightly better than my P7 torch The Wilma and Betty are NUTS power wise but drawing 23watts means big battery to carry around for long rides.

Stuff the lights they are bright but not as good as these Going to buy some and just ride
Already got 1 of them totally unuseable on a bike though ( cheap mk1 version ) can barely walk with it, good for sneaking up on people though and watching wildlife at night in the pitch dark.

 dogging isnt really wildlife dyl

 It kinda is

Never take it out with me sadly, i normally just ride past danger close and look in the cars with my lights on full So far, 1 girlie on top with cracking tits swinging around in 5years of trying LOADS of blokes hanging around hoping for a girl to turn up at dogging spots, never ever ever ever any girls there!!
