....that looks and sounds almost identical to the Airbike P7 SL2, uses the same emitter, has the same lumen output and has similar battery life, but is almost twice the price. Effin bargain.

It's got a much better reflector but I think it's 3x's the price. My 430 Lumen regulated torch worked well tonight not bad for £22 put this into perspective okay I'll need 2 of them to compete really
dyl what type of torch is it and where did you get it ?
Here Bar use only on that 1, huge flood no spot at all!! It'll be my always on torch with a P7 600lumen supporting it in burst on descents 430 + 600 + 700 + 250 = 1980 Approx Lumens all on Madness
I got nowhere to put mine! Might take the L1 off at last so that will be 600 + 600 on the bars plus 700 + 430 on me Ed. Its 1980 lm with the L1 but 2250 with the TR-C2, then my tr801 in my mouth aswell i think. This is getting silly Dyl

Yep getting silly if you consider I used to ride with 160Lumens TOTAL, the Yellow on my MC-E's really doesn't work for me though Haven't tried fully on yet, didn't have the old P7 on the bike yesterday and couldn't use the head torches at all in the fog. Off to B&Q ( is it open ?? ) to get some thread lock of the blue kind, did a great job of accidentally staining my first torches glass blue so fingers crossed at the loss of some lumens might get me a better colour CRAZY PLAN TIME DUDE!!! FIRST OF THE YEAR

*wonders where Chris is going to put his rear lights - up his @rse?*

I fail on making my MC-E's go Blue I tried Biro ink as a experiment which wipes off, even the thinnest coating 1/2's the output, also a found a blue glasses lense 1/2's the output Shame so close to perfect, the P7 used in this tesla is a brilliant white like my P7 Torch so don't worry about this as far as the Tesla's concerned.
dyl, why not get a couple of theseand bodge an external battery pack?
Mike Mike Mike, I've got 1 of those already arrived yesterday!! Pretty good, down alot on my Big MC-E but Yellow Damn good bar light!!
Dyl, Mike linked to the new f16 light that appeared on dx about 2 weeks ago. Its 1 mode though, although it shows 3 in the description. I use my lower modes so i dont need to change batteries. Could,nt have less than 3 modes. Used the new light out walking today as it got dark and its really good. Not quite P7 but with longer runtime, provides a useful light. Got to see about mounting it on my helmet now! And back on topic, the tesla is overpriced especially when were all MTE P7 nutts. Cant wait to see what 2009 will bring. With cree's 161lm per watt leds @350ma Moggy

Sorry looked the same at a glance as the MC-E I just bought. That torch is a good flood with no real hot spot to make the surrounding look dull, wouldn't use it on my head personally I like my 8000Lux hot spot I currently use to backup the MC-E's light everywhere but not well focused. 2 x R4 P60 Drop in size torches for 800Lumens total with a good spot on my helmet would suite me just fine Role on the R4's we are at the cutting edge of LED's LOL I'm upto 12 batterys incase I decide to do a long night ride, but with the winter we are getting I can't stop out that long before freezing my tits off
Additional Chris, although new battery the MC-E beats hands down, 30mins into the battery life the MC-E's down alot and this 1 will still be pumping out the same until the battery is near dead which is a huge bonus. Just need 2
Chris, feeling rich and want FULL Power Ordered this P7 Here Prefer the colour of P7's likely use on the bars will consider swapping with the MC-E on my head though, use in 200L Medium next to the 430L 4hour run time and boost to high for fast bits, use current P7 which is way down on power on the Road bike!!

It would be a lot cheaper to buy a proper bike light, than all the pissing about buying new torches every 2 months, Jerry building mounts, colouring lenses, realising you don't like it then go and buy another and repeating it all again.
Nah MSP it's cost me nothing, my older torches are doing my mates well who are too tight to buy decent lights and I have 3x's the output of the £300 Tesla and 3x's the run time 3hours wouldn't cut it for me at all. And with 4 torches even if 3 fail on a descent I'm fine, never had 1 fail yet suites me nicely. That and I like fiddling
