what forks are they - i presume they've got a 1" steerer?

nice bike btw - far too good to just use around town.

I'd guess at Tange rigids ;-)

Strange, I was thinking that as well!

:)
i was hoping for a bit more information than that...like if they're any good, if you can get them new, that sort of thing....

They're second hand, he picked them up on the STW classifieds IIRC

But they are Tange Rigids, I think.

Nice v-brake's stu - wonder where you found them
shame you didn't let me know you were after cross-rides too, mind!

Forks are indeed Tange rigids. I got them new in the end as I couldn't find any 1" ahead forks with a long enough steerer.
They were about £35 I think, got them from the Bicycleworks in Edinburgh but anyone with a Fisher account should be able to get hold of them. They are fine - loads of mud room even with a 2.4" tyre on the front, nice and accurate steering and surprisingly smooth. Don't weigh a lot either.

Mrs Doyle (yes, she has a name) gets muddy at least once a week at the moment, it's the bike of choice for local riding (Pentland Hills) and when I feel like hurting myself or need a bit of a change I use it at Glentress too.

Matt, glad to hear you've got the Kula built up and on the trails again, will look forward to seeing her on here in due course.
I never had you figured for a masochist Stu? Glad you're having fun with it.

That's why she's called Mrs Doyle, cos "maybe I like the misery".

Actually it's not that bad and singlespeeding isn't that hard. I've only thrown up a lung once when riding it and I'm not the fittest of blokes or living in the flattest of places.

I hope they don't mind having 2 P7s on the section.. I just submitted mine.

Ouch... should have looked!

Amazing that a feature being currently advertised on the homepage can throw up a link to the oldest thread I have ever seen!
