OK, first up, I really like the look of the 46, a lot. A large lot, in fact.
But, what's bugging me is....
Isn't it just a Marin with a swoopy front end and a swish fork?
That said, I could see one of these in the stable sometime!

If you're going to get a Whyte, then do it properly and get Plus Fours
Thing is, that was what I didn't really like about the original Quad Whyte, so this looks sweet!
Horses for courses Charlie my man. That's precisely what I liked and that's why I bought one. Although looking at the 46 maybe I should have waited.
£2700 though, it's a bit steep
The 46 isn't replacing the PRST-4 it's an enduro bike rather than XC bike. So I guess it's aimed at a different market
I kind like it too. It would probably look even better with a black frame.......
I think it looks awesome. A custom paint scheme might be called for, because it would look great in black! I need to test ride one now!!!!
 it's pig ugly.
But what full sus bike isn't
 "it's pig ugly"
lol
....and a Patriot isn't?
 My Preston isn't ugly.
It's just misunderstood ;-)
Nah - That JW4 may ride well but it's got to be one of the pig ugliest bikes I've ever seen. Come on - Look at the way the chain's just drooping out there all on it's tod!
The newer mode looks OK but just looks like a Marin on Steroids.
There used to be a couple who rode the trails near me that had identical "His & Hers" Whytes (The original design).
I alway think the old Whytes look like a pair of scissors - I'd be frightened of getting my fingers trapped in them somewhere.
That Maverick for looks super good though.
One day, all forks will be made this way.
 what's not to like?
I think it looks pretty cool (although Mr. Whyte please can we have one in super sexy stealth black).
And whatever happened to function over form? You won't be looking at it when you're riding.
I shouldn't bother requesting coloured paint from Mr Whyte, it will all fall off within the week. Shame that mt PRST-1 looks so tatty because it it is almost perfect in all other respects.
Got to agree with Eric, my PRST1 is lovely, apart from the paint, Whyte must have spent years researching just the correct grade of paint to wear off in the wind!
Oh it's the wind is it? I thought I was being a little rough with the toothbrush and Johnson's Baby Soft Wash.
BTW Ming, is it your Preston that's making strange noises?
Oh yes, it all started when I was ten, sorry, after about 4 months of ownership, summer came and everything dried out. I had a creak from the crank area, which basically entailed stripping and regreasing the crank surfaces (AR$E!), making sure the pedals were tight, re-routing a cable and then after a while a new creak developed (arghhhhh!), eventually traced to the seatpost. At the moment its relatively quiet but I have only just started cycling again after a 6 month layoff due to illness, apathy and er bone idleness (oh yes and motorbikes).
BTW the paint on PRST-4 is fine, maybe it's just the 1's that had dodgy paint
