warranty the use of the Maverick fork on this frame?
Whats the point? The Whyte 46 is basically the same bike, with a Maverick fork already.

if you look at the prices of a maverick fork and an attack trail bike and the cost of the wheel to suit the maverick fork then they're about the same price for a consumer, but if you really want to know then I suggest you ring atbsales and ask them, have a look at www.whytebikes.co.uk and you'll get their number there.

I have a Whyte 46 and it rides sweetly and my only complaint is that they didn't anodise it instead of painting it

Wasn't an entirely serious question gents, mostly because I am unlikely to be able to afford either.

Given that 500 bikes were supposedly destined for the UK this year and the 46 & Attack trail/Wolf ridge frames are VERY similar, perhaps Marin designed their frames in preparation for the inevitable, even if only to steal some marketing ground from Spesh/Trek et al.

For pure aesthetics it has the Whyte 46 beat I think.

Bloody good bikes Attack Trails.

Really? I rather like the 46's banana top tube over the boomerang of the Marin.

Its all down to opinion I guess. I just think the Marin looks ready to rumble, whilst the Whyte looks a little wrong...

But like I said, its all opinion.

I've only got the single-pivot 2001 model and she's a fcuk sight fitter than me already so I think I'm gonna get my sorry @rsed kicked.

Strange, that's just what she said... :o'

Is the top tube length and geometry the same as the Whyte 46? i.e are they pretty much the same bike but the 46 has the maverick fork?

For all the extra beef on the frame/swingarm is the Attack Trail noticably stiffer than the Mount Vision? It seems to me that the main flex comes from the basic geometry of the frame and the relatively close proximity of all the pivots to each other.

If I had to make a criticism of the Mount Vision its the flex in the rear when you really push it on rough downhills - but as you write in the review that's not necessarily what its designed to excel in and it isn't completely sketchy or unmannered even then. I have taken the harshness out of the ramp up on my Mt Vish by upgrading my Float RL with an AVA air sleeve so that's not an issue either.

Also - any comments on whether the extra weight over say a Mount Vision/Blur/Spesh FSR/Sub 5 is noticeable when you are climbing and/or throwing the bike around?
