Looks really good.... decent review but could have done with some specific info like the length of the wire you can wind out, weight etc.

Good, but a bit expensive I thought.

Weight = not much ;-) I'll measure the wire when I'm back in the same room as the lock, but there's roughly a metre of it.

cheers Mike... also... can only find the thing for sale at Snow&Rock... Ultimate Persuits dont seem to have it available yet...

I just take a small padlock and pass it through a link on the chain. Makes it impossible to ride, though obviously can still be carried away!

 |
If it were cheaper...say £15 I would get one to take with me to my girlfriends house (so I can buy flowers on the way).

looked through web sites etc. the lengths being quoted are 75cm (or 2.5 feet), so not loads but enough for its purpose of "stop-and-pop-into-shop"...
|
 |
I like that idea AW. Might have to use that one. :)

Weight is 136 grams about the weight of a large mobile phone. 75 cm cable length. it is a nice compact lock i would say its a little on the expensive side. its unlikely ever to get insurance approval.got mine from snow & rock its silver and black not green asstated on their site.

Abus do a very similar one with 60 and 90 cm cables for about half the price (I think they are around £12 retail). I got one in a local camping shop last week and its very useful for those quick shop stops, although obviously it wouldn't stop any thief with tools. Its useful too for securing a helmet or pannier, etc. to a bike.

Been using this lock for over 2 years on my Ski's. Is great little lock, fits easily in a pocket and will stop the opertunist
As mentioned its only 4mm thick so it wont stop anyone with more than a pair of cutters though.
|
 |
i got one from lidl for 2.99 ... i use it in conjunction with a large abus lock as a deterrant to not get my seat nicked off my hack bike
|
 |
I've been using the Mobile phone like, plastic jobby with the 3 digit combination lock on the top of it.
Don't even think it's 4mm's, but I feel alot safer when popping into a shop, that they won't just hop on and ride off.
Ofcourse, if they've got wire cutters on them, snip and gone :(
Better than nothing, not as good as a proper lock, would I carry a proper lock, just incase, well no.
