a blast. I'm very jealous, though I have no right to be < hangs head in excuse shame >
'the largest in the world' is that true?

Having now recovered...i have to agree the post race 'glow' is just the best. The atmosphere was brilliant and the organisation spot on. The course was 'glue' like but not unrideable even at 3am. Unfortunately we can not complain about the helicopter as the poor guy who had a heart attack at 11am half way up the 'grunt' needed to be bought back down safely. Just hope next years race goes ahead as Trentham Awakes (as its known now) will continue to be developed as a mini oasis holiday park.

The police chopper was out because of the local kids who were firing off an air-rifle on the course...

No idea about the "biggest in the world" claim. But it's a genuine quote ;-)

Might do all these events solo next year just to knacker Mark's team planning even more :-)
Three of me, not saying my number though, cos I'm pulling a stupid face in all of them :)

Looks more focussed than stupid to me, Paul ;-)

Solo next year Mike? Thats the spirit!

If the helicopter was out to pick up a man who had a heart attack, then I would rather lose some sleep that someone potentially lose their life. (just for the record).

"Might do all these events solo next year"

I heard that ;o)

Well done Jenn, you had a good ride aye?

I hope you were paying particular attention to the "might" ;-)

Actually I think I'm going a bit potty. I was looking at my snigglespeed the other day wondering what it'd be like with RC31s and moustache handlebars.

£265 for a light? I don't get it.

You can pay more for a light if you like ;-)

Ah, that's how it starts, one minute you're idly thinking you might give it a try, the next it's 4am and the sun's coming up on your eleventh lap. Bring your tea urn, we'll save you a spot in the tent ;o)

(My personal experience is improving considerably as the rose-tinted spectacles of hindsight grow ever thicker with the passage of time...hmmmm)

Actually I should quickly backpedal on that "all" bit too. I _might_ do _one_. Once. Maybe.

I can hear your brain preparing the first excuse already....

Go for it Mike, start off gently and do a 12hour on your own first :)
