Just read the report on Sundays event. I'm well impressed, I took 4:40 for the 50km route, but then I have honestly done very little riding of any kind in the last 6 months and not a lot in the last 12. It was brilliant though and the mix of people/bikes was really good to see. I ended up relaying in a group that consisted of just about every bike/rider type imaginable.

My cycling urge is back big time and I can't wait to get out again.

100k next year i feel(?!)

Sounds like a good, but very hard, ride, nice one.

Just out of interest, what bike were you riding?

Truly, 4:40 for the 100km is good going, like Andy I took the same for the 50km (finished at 13:38) and am still aching! Got to get in shape for the SSMM now....

Bike was Intense EVP5.5 with Maverick 6" fork.

Don't feel too bad We were a few minutes behind the first finisher and he said he'd done it in 4.0 something. We got in in 4.12.

Brilliant event!

4hrs is damn fast for 100km, my best is 6 at builth wells, but that is a beast of a course

Brilliant event. Nice mix of tarmac, track, & trail. I beat you, Jack, by over an hour on my '92 Litespeed 24sp HT on 1.85 semi-slicks (~;

[Mind you, that was only the 50km !]

Nice write up. Fruit cake at end was excellent. Cheers to organisers, marshalls, etc..

Dragged around by my mate Pete on my 5 yr old Specialized and finished in 3:31 for the 50k (15 min tea stop). Suffer from cramp now at the grand old age of 52 so no 100k for me yet.
Saw 4 riders including Euan Adams follow the "leader" in at the finish (top fitness and kit).
Great day out, good weather and a superb mix of terrain with testing uphills, single track and exiting downhills you could get into trouble on.
A superbly organised and excellent value event. See you at the Merida 100 in May for more of the same.

Has anyone done the Rough Ride 74k as well as HOTN 100k? If so how do they compare?

For those that missed out on the HONC this year the west drayton have a similar 100km event on June 4th. A number of people who rode our event and the HONC event last year rated ours higher - more single track apprently did it for them.
Anyway check out the www.westdraytonmbc.co.uk site for downloadable entry forms . Pre entry is recommended though as we are limiting to 300!
