First marathon of the season and for me at least, the toughest I have ever done. Finished in 6` 50" and chuffed at that as no longer a spring chicken, more like a very old old rooster these days. This was my fourth attempt and was determined not to fail. As usual it was well organised, and a great atmosphere, especially the joshing from the County Down contingent. Some might complain about the steep hills, but remember the downhills after the climbs. The scree slope was for me the highlight of the event.

Did Sunday's course have the rad singletrack used on Saturdays night ride?

I didn't have the energy to ride again on Sunday

If you mean the bit through the forest then yes. Was it that wet when you went through?.

It was damp, and slippy in places, especially the roots, but not that bad

Made a change from the moorland didn't it ;)

Yes it was a change and although it was wet I must admit I did enjoy it.
Did you take the photos of the start?
If so you must have been standing behind me its the photo on the page with your write up. If so do you have any more.
I.m the one in the bottom right in red.

I was taking photos of both rides. My coverage of the night event was a bit patchy due to me running up the hill and finding that:

a) it was horrible up there - raining, V cold and not conducive to good pictures

and

b) half the people had already gone past

So I ran back down to the single track bit and (see b above)

I did manage to get pics of almost everyone on the second big climb on day 2 though.

They are available at www.sleepmonsters.co.uk - I'm afraid you have to buy them though, but you can have a look at them at a reasonable size first.

I have seen them on sleepmonsters and have purchased one already thanks for the effort you put in to take so many photos.
