Not to be confused with PRST-1...

But perhaps as ugly? Nah, not possible

Streakx sell virtually identical 'faux bars" for a lot less. Kona too for that matter. Seattle in Washington state is perhaps better known for a corrupt plane maker, a megalomaniac software company and a moutain that exploded in 1982. Why do people think American/Canadian stuff is better just because it comes from over there?

How about testing the latest marathon offerings from Streakx and Nicolai Mike.
John - you forgot "a culturally imperialist coffee bar chain"

Founded 1971. Thanks for jogging my memory Sloboy. The point was simply that there are great European MTBs that merit a bit more space on BM IMO.

Do they?

I also noticed that the describe the frames as being four bar linkage when it's actully a rocker actuated swing-arm.

Surely that's a bit naughty?
From what I've seen Transition are proven without carrying a major brand price tag they just happen to be American/Canadian.

The designs used by Transition mean that their isn't the need for a massive outlay on development costs or patents. The frame and fork packages are obscenly cheap even with carriage and tax, you could do a lot worse.

12 euros for the Horst link licence or just over 1% on the selling price.

Unless you're any sort of credible Specialized rival, in which case no chance ;-)

With the exception of Giant of course.

But there again Giant do build a lot of the Spec full sussers.

Hey that's great news, glad you like them!

Of course the proof is in the pudding as they say, so if you're in the market for a shorter travel fr/am rig, an out and out FR weapon or a Jump/Trail bike let me know and I can hook you up with a demo!

The Preston's a good looking bike Jamie. If it rides as practical as it looks I'd consider one. Any demo's in Devon??
Show/hide user stats
Sorry not as yet but if ever you're up in the North East let me know :)

Thanks to Jamie for being more than helpful with my recent enquiries. I'm very impressed with these, geometry is good, build quality also good and a good company ethos to boot. I was looking at second hand rigs but I've been so impressed with Transition that I've just placed an order for a Dirtbag.

No problem, thanks for going with Transition! I know you're going to be happy!

Went out last night for some DH on the Preston in 5" mode, what a blast!

Where about's in the north east do you demo these bikes?
Show/hide user stats
Around the North York Moors and the surrounding areas mostly.

Let me know if you fancy coming along some time...

Well I and a friend have been looking at the dirtbag, we live in sheffield. I'll get hold of him see if he knew about the demo possibility, he's a bit more interested than I am as he definitely can afford it, I probably shouldn't, but that's bike for you
