i've been running the tubeless version of the 2.2 for a few months now, and pretty much agree with the review.

i should mention, for all the tubeless fans out there, this was an easy tyre to fit and inflate. i ran it without latex for a while and had no problems, but i've since added some latex. if it does leak any air it does it so slowly that i don't notice it.

and fingers crossed, no punctures yet, despite my best efforts (where's my spare tube, i'm bound to puncture this weekend;)

Just fitted the tubeless 2.2 All Mountain last night and took them for a spin around Cannock Chase. Very impressive grip and they roll pretty well too. They certainly feel more compliant over rough terrain than my previous tubed Hot S 2.2 which I thought were pretty good themselves. I assume this is a benefit of being tubeless. This is my first foray into tubeless tyres and fitting them was not the nightmare I expected. I got them on with a little help from plastic tyre levers, squirted in 50ml of latex sealant and inflated them no problem with a track pump. No problems holding air so far using Crossmax XL wheels.

I fitted some XCR All Terrain tyres last summer after reading a review. I was very impressed with the overall performance but felt that they were not that durable and didn't last that long. I spoke to Michelin directly and they told me that they are releasing a new version of these tyres in 2006. The XCR version has a 127 tpi casing which means it is very thin and light for optimal performance. Their new XC range has a slightly thicker 60tpi casing making it more durable but only weighs in at around 30g-40g heavier and the retail price is about half that of the XCR version. Otherwise the tyre is identical. A friend has switched to these from the XCR and hasn't noticed any dramatical difference in performance but the tyre visually has less cuts and damage and looks like it will go on for ever!
