great news - its just what dalby needs. these trails, with the already in development skills area and DH tracks, should make dalby an english version of what has already gone on in Wales and Scotland.
fianlly the north will have a full set of dedicated MTB areas. shame i'll be at uni when its finished...

Great to hear of some new trail building projects in England. Why can we not develop a network of trail centres like Scotland and Wales. You could have maybe Grizedale/Whinlatter, Hamsterley, Dalby, Sherwood Pines, Forest of Dean, Thetford and maybe the New Forest ?

You're welcome ;-)

Singletraction

If anyone feels moved enough, stick your hand in your pocket and help us out by joining Singletraction. The money in the article is for Dalby only.

We have many ongoing projects throughout Yorkshire of which all are being carried out with the help of volunteers (i'm one of them!) which require tools and materials. These are all paid for by any money raised locally and our (which means your!) membership fees.

So come on..do your bit and join or even better help us 'barrow this sunday at Stainburn!! ;-)

Details are on the website.

Ta :-)

great news for the north for a change. should improve on any already great location!
Jase, does sheffield count as yorkshire for Singeltraction purposes?

Just one point, and this from a SingletrAction member, lets not all get too carried away with Man Made stuff.

In Yorkshire there is a mass of absolutely awesome bridleways.

Hopefully the New Dalby Trails will encourage people to ride the Bridleways near by as well.

My worry is that if we just ride the man made stuff, people might start trying to stop us riding Bridleways. Snowdon is an example of this. It wouldn't surprise me if they stopped us from riding there completely.

So got out on the Bridleways!

here here spuggy. IME man made are a good place to learn/develope skills. yorks has some great natural stuff too though.
the new skills area is fun appart from the berm into the tunnel if you exit high it puts you into the tunnel wall .
I liked Dalby, I'm glad its got some money being ploughed back into it. I did enjoy the skills area too. The bits of the black route we did were good too, all in all a nice place!

Be good to see it in a few years with all the new developments!

Just spent the weekend at Dalby. Rode all of the new red trail, fantastic, every type of riding to appeal to all standards of ability.
Stopped at the campsite at the entrance to the forest, would highly recommend this site at Pexton Moor Farm. New toilet/shower block just opened.

Can't wait to finally ride the new stuff.

I also can't believe this thread is 2 years old - doesn't seem like that long ago that the funding was announced!
