It's the opposite of Biopace. It's more like an Eggring, but adjustable.

now't wrong with biopace - as long as the rings were rotated 90º, still have an old Ultegra c/set in use on my road bike ...

Mike, those Rotor rings .. i take it there's little chance of the chainring suddenly 'slipping' - it's just that there doesn't seem to be much material (support) around the bolt heads ??

A single speed jump bike with vertical drop outs :-/

A bamboo tandem :-/

Oval chainrings :-/

'Power Rangers' electric bikes :-/

I see you saved the best for last Mike.

I've got a 12 year old rigid MTB that I've turned into a road bike that has a Shimano 200 biopace chainset. Probably a museum piece now!

The guy who designed the IF jump bike put vertical dropouts on it for two reasons. First, his riding buddy and test rider runs gears. Second, he hasn't come up with a nice way of doing track ends and a disc brake.

And don't dis' the bamboo tandem, that's 100% OF ACE ;-)

I've no idea if the Rotor rings'll slip or not. I mean, I'd like to think that they've done the sums. With any luck we'll get hold of some and find out.
Bamboo, that'd feel like carbon fibre to ride do you think?

Adjustable drop outs with a disc mount or an eccentic BB are alternatives to horizontal drop outs. An adjustable disc mount is the obvious complement to track ends.

Now find me a sliding dropout on a steel frame that looks as nice as you'd expect an IF dropout to look ;-) And if you do, they'll still be fiddlyfiddlyfaffyfaffytoomanyboltsgrrr.

Eccentrics are a faff too. Personally I think slotted disc mounts are the nicest solution, but still not "nice" really. Mind you, tensioners aren't very nice either.
I'll be ordering Middle and Inner real soon, and reporting back if I like or not :)
