Any Idea if those Carbon Fibre bits, make the ride more comfortable or not ?? ( softtail like ? )
Think I'll stick to Pace forks, even if the price of those is quite interesting.
( still want Rigid carbon RC31'd bike some day LOL )

Correction before everyone jumps on it " KINESIS " thanks LOL
Still drooling over it ( Suspects becoming a bike snob )
Can't find any info anywhere though :( BB Height, Max Tyre size in the Rear, how much vertical compliance the Pro 2 Carbons do claim some, so hmmmmm.
Someone buy one soon and give me info plsss. Web Site would be good, can't find.

I think, like me, you're a bit too 'stout' for carbon Dylan ;-)
 LOL
Yeah possibly Kato, with my weight on it, it'll feel like a 4inch suspension bike LOL
Mavic EC729 ( 29mm rim ) going on the Trek HT, think I've snapped my 9th spoke on the wheel that came with it, no more.
Still no pinch flat though, despite 30psi max.
I wouldn't be very happy with the wheel build if I'd managed to snap 9 spokes but not hit anything hard enough to pinch puncture the tube at 30 psi . You didn't build them yourself did you Dylan ?
Several times over Neil, Rim's to weak for my body mass thats all.
Rebuilt my 719's aswell, re tensioned there running perfectly, so not my fault honest.
Just get some of these and be done with it!

no to much money, I've ordered a EX729 rim though already, built onto a wheel from merlin, so 1 step ahead.

Carbon stays are sommat used far more heavily in the roadie world, as they add back end rigidity to a flexy alu/ti frame. They have less point on an MTB as the rear end stiffness isn't so much of an issue. I doubt they would add any comfort to the ride quality.
Carbon stays are used on alu road bikes because they give a more comfortable ride , alu frames are plenty stiff enough on their own .
Hmmm, depends on the frame, friend has an Ambrosio Rapide that's as wobbly as some of Dylan Turveys mechanical advice. :-)
Site claims to adds some vertical compliance, but also claims the chain stays are beefed up, so don't see how they'd flex.
Cotic Soul most likely, and a fat back tyre in there.

My Trek liquid has carbon stays (Black Magic flexi stays) which have an element of preload on the suspension.
Think it is just marketing hype at the time from trek cos i would be very surprised if the were carbon.
Can't see the point on the Trek Liquid, but they do look very pretty.
Might take out vibrations, to small for the shock to respond to I guess.
They add preload to the rear triangle to help illiminate pedal bob. When they ditched it they added another pivot on the rear triangle.
I agree, gimmick but look pretty till scratched to pieces.
I have been looking at them kinesis frames. Look very much like the Dave Hinde models which we heaviliy advertised early last year in the magazines. Whats the odds they are both made on the same line?
Dave Hinde models hey, I'll take a look at them shortly!
I wouldnt touch the hinde ones with a barge pole mate. But i am sure they had a model out which had the carbon rear end/stays like the kinesis for 12 months.
Dave Hinde, rings a bell crappy bike company got it, avoiding.

Found that link, on your Thread not the one I was after sadly :( after going through 100's of pages LOL
