Rode it and it rocked.

Bringing Scottish berm and speed learning to Wales finally. Mix this trail up with some big hills in the North and ideally organic riding and you'll be smiling.

Hats off for the last decent what are those berms like?!

I think it's great that all these trails are being built for mountain bikers all over the UK, but it does make me wonder sometimes how sustainable this growth in trails is.

There are only so many MTB riders in the UK and many of these are only rarely able to spare the time to travel to all the centres.

I appreciate that each of these locations will have a 'hardcore' of regulars who are mostly relatively local to the trails, and it's always good to have decent trails near by, but surely there must be a point where the increase in purpose built trails will result in the overall economy of local communities deminishing as the money spent by the same riders starts to get spead over a far greater area.

Yes, there are always newcomers to the sport but att he same time there are those who leave it and I don't beleive that the difference between the two is so great as to off set the potential decrease in financial benefit to these communities.

There do seem to be quite a lot who can, though. I guess it'll find its own level. Malthus and all that ;-)

I think its still a growing sport which probably hasn't anywhere near reached its peak yet TBH. Each time I go to my local centre (Dalby) or even just in the local woods, I see more & more MTBers including a lot of beginners who will probably go on to ride these new trails.
Also seeing a lot more women especially at the last Selkirk Merida, good women riders too, bless em' ;-)

I think it peaked in the mid-nineties but is on the rise again now, which can only be a good thing.

Could it be a cyclical thing then?

As long as they dont start charging ridiculous prices to enjoy a day, im sure they will get right stimulation for the tourism.

I had a dream in which a weird naked indian told me

"If you build them, they will come"

Didn't you think it was a trifle unnecessary to see the crack in the Indian's bottom?

Those berms look a bit nice, when I go back to uni I'll knock a few heads together and take a potter up that way.

What bike you reckon would be better, my XC hardtail or the 6' burly full bounce?

It's my local forest as I live and work in Carmarthen, It's an amazing trail and there's a black run planned. Rowan and the team have moved the goalposts from the trails at Afan.
