Ah well, enjoy your 'retirement' and thanks for the great bikes you've given me.

Wether you love or hate Whytes (I,ve owned one for three and a half years and love them) you cannot deny his contribution to U.K. mountain biking and if he is not around with his fresh thinking and innovation, then we will all lose out. His dramatic approach to design has made a big difference to the U.K. scene, and we can only hope that whatever he turns his thoughts to, he achieves as much success and respect elsewhere.

Any significance that he's announced his retirement at the same time as Michael Schumacher.

Seriously though I've got a 99 Rock Springs and a 06 Attack Trail and they are both great designs.

What a shame... hope you enjoy your retirement though.

Haven't had my Whyte bike long but I can say that its wicked, fantastic to ride and look at and a superb piece of engineering.
