The Colnago frame looks rather fine, although I expect it is on the expensive side (they usually are!) but I hope they do it in other colours. It may look better "in the flesh" but from the photo it looks decidedly muddy! Otherwise I may have to leave it off my Christmas list.

Any chance the organisers can make a show next year where we could actually buy stuff ?

Having arrived with a pocketful of money I was disapointed to say the least when the only people selling stuff was a clothes vendor. While looking at the Crank Bros items we was told we could go over to the Chain Reaction stall and buy the pedals. When we got over to the Chain Reaction section it was a big bunch of computers so we could order online at CRC !

I don't think I'll bother next year what with the entry fee and the worlds most expensive parking ! I'll just wait until it shows up on this site.

You'd have got an extra 10% off CRC's already competitive prices.

glad i just read that Nasa,

I was feeling sorry for myself that i couldnt get there, and while i wanted to check out the new gear, i also thought the distributors would be seeling a lot of stuff at exhibition prices.Oh well, glad i stayed home to study and will order my stuff online.

BTW were the clothes cheap?ish

I know CRC's show prices were lower but it would have meant trying to enter my details on those metal keyboards controlled by either a trackball with the jitters, or an overly sensitive touch screen and my big fingers ! All while showing my card details to the person queing behind me and looking over my shoulder.

I use CRC all the time so am already happy with their prices and service. 10% extra wouldn't have made much difference to the few metres of Goodridge hose I was gonna order.

Frichie, I'm not to up to date on the price of clothes, but the only jacket I really liked was spoilt by the fact it was £190.00, at that price I'd want it to stop bullets not weather.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy seeing the new models and equipment, I'd just rather spend my £25 quid on seeing them later and then buying them.

"10% extra wouldn't have made much difference to the few metres of Goodridge hose I was gonna order." If you were only going to order 20 quids worth of hose then why are you bitching?

Talking of christmas lists - a fully built up RoadRat for £750 looks very interesting. I did a 30 miler on the road bike yesterday and the 23mm tyres, alloy frame and drop bars aren't kind on some of the shit surfaces I have to ride on. The Rat might be a nice compromise and feel just as comfy and 'right' as my Soul.

I use a cyclocross bike round here, got a nice shiny new Kinesis Crosslight 4T last week in fact, and that's a great comprimise, I'm running 32c Spesh Houffalize tyres, there's definitely a bit more compliance than a road bike, and they're not phased by all the mud/grit on the roads round Bristol.

Mike, I'm bitching because my girlfriends father was gonna buy a pair of Ti Crank Bros pedals, his 10% reduction would have covered his ticket and parking !

Could these two statements be in any way connected? ;-)

"Mike, I'm bitching because my girlfriends father was gonna buy a pair of Ti Crank Bros pedals, his 10% reduction would have covered his ticket and parking !" Sorry my psychic powers must have failed me!

'Could these two statements be in any way connected?'

yes, of course! But I'd suspect that even with 23c tyres there's a bit more compliance in the frame/fork than a road bike, the being my underlying point.

Talking of tyres, I am looking for a decent (not a new mortgage) pair of tyres to do a bit of the off road stuff during winter as a change from the road bike. I know what you mean about the 23c's. Any suggestions?

They have probably been replaced by your amazing powers of sarcasm Mike !

It was definite before. Now you only suspect. C'mon, man, stick to your guns! ;-)
