I just upsized my rotor at the front like the article said on my Manitou forks: to 203 rotor (£19.99) but the new fixing bracket was only a fiver so the upgrade was almost a tenner less than that described in the review

Was that a official Shimano bracket? AFAIK they're all £14.95 rrp, but I'm sure they can be had cheaper ;-)

Hayes brackets work on Shimano brakes too.

Thats correct David, all Shimano disc brake adapters now only cost £5 each. XT 6 bolt rotors start at £14.95 for 160, £17.95 for 180 and 19.95 for 203.
