TBH I love building up a new bike from bits, or even an old one from spares for that matter. I find it almost therapeutic. So much so that when I was building up my Cotic Soul I lost track of time and was still spannering in the kitchen when the Missus came in in her dressing gown to inform me that it was 2:00am and she was trying to get some sleep.

yes the red and black thing came about accidently really, though it was something i wanted to go for from the outset

should, fingers crossed, have it nearly 100% built by tommorrow.

I've also got one in red, and mighty fine it is too. Easily the best hardtail I've ridden - although it pushes me too far and I keep falling off!

I have a metallic grey one just waiting to be built, along with matching rigid forks. I'll ride it SS rigid over winter and probably chuck gears on it for summer, maybe...

I WAS building mine on a budget, but got carried away a bit and started buying xm819 rims and juicy 5 brakes etc :)

The red does look nice, David what seat clamp are you using?
