the far flung MacAttack is on a North Leeds MTB summer evening ride, no farther away than West Yorkshire.

I think it's Ilkley Moor - and yes, Bradford Council do permit MTBing on Ilkley Moor, where sustainable, despite what the readers of the Ilkley Gazzette might think.
