Erm. Shouldn't that be Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire?

Yes, yes it should. The 'e' and 't' are perilously close on these keyboards

I went last year to demo some bikes, that sign on the way in made me laugh "WARNING There is no live music or alcohol served on this site"

Went to the Big Chill there a month later and it was somewhat different!

any idea when entries are open? and is solo really that much harder then in a team

No HM I'm sure 24hours of continuous biking is piece of p!ss

I'll be there this year, normally the same weekend as SITS IIRC

Mighty Boosh & Bill Bailey this year FWF, that'll be nice when sitting under the big tree, in the sun, light breeze, drinking jugs of cocktails.........but I'm sure 24hours of biking will be much more fun HM

Some locals knifed a kid to death a few years back, that's why there's no alcohol
Show/hide user stats

That wasn't at Mountain Mayhem, of course. Just to clarify

I've just totted up and it was more than a few, as well...

Show/hide user stats
No but it was at Eastnor

There's always a bit of alcohol at the Friday night pasta party & there's nothing stopping you taking your own......

Nasty. At that site though?

I got the impression the sign was to put off anyone who thought it was another festival

Yeh the same site. Since as has been said the Big Chill is also held there that restriction is due to past trouble at the Malverns Hills Classic if I remember correctly. There was a running fight between locals and a kid got knifed. I was around that weekend but not in the evening
Will the cockeds from Mleh be there?

Peak Mid-Week will have a couple of teams - again.  And a few of us are doing the Hit The North event solo or in pairs.  Plus I reckon we'll have at least 1 entry at SITS.

I think we may be getting predictable in our old age......

We'll be having alcohol and an enormous Serrano Ham as a prize plus a music tent and an event in town afterwards at the G2 Revolver round at Stanmer Park a few weeks later - come on down the Brighton riders are trail building!

Can Mayhem please start at noon for us solos!

your own category....uh

come on, we need more hints than that.

Someone was telling me thatit takes the good guys 3 months to recover from doing 24 solo. Whether it takes the fat lazy unfit ones longer or shorter depends on how hard they push themselves

There's a photo somewhere of Roy Hunt just after he won the solo category the first time it was held. Drawn, bloodshot eyes, pale, covered in dirt - he looks like he's just been dug up.

He was, I think, 63 at the time. He beat our four-man team by an entire lap
