not sure if i'm more impressed by how good the new session looks, or by the fact they've produced their own beer for the launch

That weird headtube seems like a strange idea to me. Does the steerer tube have to taper too? If not, I think the benefits will be marginal, but it kind of makes fork upgrading a bit of a pain, doesn't it?

the steerer tube is 1.5" at the bottom race, and a more normal 1 1/8" at the top - benefits being a stiffer front end. expect to see a lot more companies adopting this design soon...

Didn't Spesh already do that on the carbon Stumpy?

there's quite a few companies doing it already, especially on the road bikes. think Time were the first to do so on a road bike?

Felt pretty damn stiff on the Remedy I tried. Makes a full 1.5 headet look a bit portly.

Yes, the carbon Stumpy has a tapered steerer, although Spesh did it more to make a lightweight carbon fibre steerer/crown without any nasty corners in it than for reasons of burl. Lots of bikes will have 1.5/1.125 headtubes for 2009.

Oh, and launch beer isn't really a big deal - find agreeable local brewer, order however many bottles of whatever it is you want, design and print your own labels

Session Lager wasn't made specifically for this event:

I've never had it, but I'll get some and let you know. :~)
