Rob is doing a great job.. Mike Cotty is going at it again in August and I am going in July - let Rob set the mark!! The conditions are absolutely stellar out there today.

Good luck to all of you.Thats one hell of a ride

rob rather sprung it on us at short notice quinny - we would have liked to been able to let you all know in advance, but seeing as he didn't want to confirm a date beforehand, we had little choice
To add to what Dave said, he knew he was going to have a crack at it sometime in May but didn't have a specific date in mind; I'm guessing he saw the weather window and decided to go for it!

We'd literally put the item about Rob planning an attempt into the back end and just before it went live Dave got word that he'd set off. He'd actually been on the trail for some hours by then, I suspect he's taking the "no outside support" thing seriously enough that he didn't want people showing up and encouraging him It's 7.20pm and he's approaching the A32. Needs to be at the finish by 10pm, I reckon he's well in.

In Winchester on the map....has he done it?!
I think so - the King Alfred statue is at the eastern end of the Broadway, if you zoom in that's where he is. So that's what, 21 hours? Crikey.
F***ing impressive to say the least. What bike did he do it on?
NIce day for a pootle along a bridleway! Fair play to the man

That's just silly fast. Very well done.

20h 55m 51s, subject to confirmation! Left Winchester 23:40:00 yesterday, arrived back 20:35:51. And when he opened his backpack, he'd brought every last powerbar wrapper and bit of rubbish back with him - way to go, Rob!

 Cheers David.
