Those photographs make them look like the fugliest things alive - strange, because all the Commencals I've seen in real life (all one of them) have been pretty, well, pretty.

mmMMMmmm.... flouro matt green... we're back in the early '90's!!
Shame because I'd like to have a go on one of those Super 4's. I hope they don't go all 'Youff' now they've got a couple of young World Champs on team.
Is it just me or do they seem to have 'perfected' the Meta's quite a lot in the past couple of years? I can understand cosmetic changes but it doesn't really inspire you to buy when they keep 'tweaking' every few months.

I've always thought that Commencal bikes looked ugly, but and an 'it looks like that cos it works better' kind of way, which I respect.
don't worry, there are some less 'flouro' colour schemes available

Did you get to have a play with the Super 4 David?
Damn I just want to try one! Nearest dealer to me in Chelt is Mud Dock in Bristol...but they apparently don't even do the Meta .......everyone seems to say if you try it you'll buy it....got the cash now so just let me ride it goddamnnit! Ooooh I needed to vent there 666 sounds more suited to me but why the masssssive price leap from a 5.5?
A 666 frame is £100 more than a 5.5 frame. This is probably down to the smaller production run on the 666.

Tekk - Beeline Bicycles in Oxford do Commencal. T'is 'only' 40 miles or so from you.

Did you get to have a play with the Super 4 David? not yet...

I meant the bikes P-N, but didn't clock the frame prices....sounds more reasonable(ish)! Nice one IWH! No demo bikes there but I can have a pootle on the road....better than nothing

From the shop take the first left and you'll find some good old fashioned cobblestones and a twisty alley at the end of that road (again on the left) which is great for testing 'flingability'. Head up the street a way and you'll find a number of entertaining bits of street furniture (curbs, steps, benches etc) to give it a good testing over. There's also a good number of parks in the area so if it's a dry day (and you're not gone for ages) you should be ok to give it a blat 'off road' of sorts.

 Insider knowledge....cheers for that!

green bikes are all the rage atm! and
And funnily enough they have a similar looking suspension actuation rocker... Kind of. I would like to have a go on that Moto though. I like the look of that.
It looks phat in the flesh....just don't try and adjust the shock while riding
I am seriously tempted by a Meta 4.2 atm. It seems to be exactly what i am after. 4" travel bike built similar in strength to a 5"+ travel bike. Bargain price on merlin as well. Wife said no

green and white does seem a popular choice. i think i like it, oddly enough... (not very future proof though)
I saw a guy riding a brand new Moto through Chamonix yesterday - with his Lyrics on backwards - had to laugh!!! Still looked nice though
other than the 'skin' i just can't get over how ugly they all are! sorry if thats been said already, but they are just too damn ugly.
