And you all thought it was nuts.

How the hell do they do these miles every day,  on my 4th alot smaller ride of the weak I had zero leg strength left took the wussy way out and crawled home,  crazy.

We need John G + wife back or something next month otherwise this event goes pretty much unmentioned on here.  Hard to believe that was 2years ago they rode it!!

In the top two of the Single Speed category... which is two riders... Awesome

What miles? It's not like 34 miles off road is exactly hard. I know they're racing and all but we're not talking Tour Divide distances every day. THAT is hard.

Come on Matt - time to stop laughing and get pedaling!

I'm hating it

2 riders in the solo singlespeed category.. i would've been in it had i got there in time.. therefore guaranteed podium!

Gay.

That sucks dumb ass,  amazed no one could of sorted you a tent out though.

Insert I'd lost it after  Sunday 10pm-1pm  25miles,  Monday afternoon 12miles,  wednesday 17miles,  thursday dead to start with barely got to 17miles.

They where all hard rides in mud,  but still only the distance of 1 day there and they are in mud too.

My legs still feel weak to!!

c'mon dyl!

I was out for 40mile xc ride earlier, then got in and sat on the turbo for an hour. also, diet plays a big part in it

Being 20years younger helps too,  how much climbing though Mike ??  its the climbing that kills you not the distance I find,  did @3000ft on the wednesday.

I've really missed my regular training climb (regular when I'm back home anyway). It's a 5000ft road climb and I'll normally ride it 2 or 3 times a week. In a totally masochistic way I do love to climb.

On an average off road ride we'll do around 35 - 40 miles and gain about 4000 feet all told. Weekends we do our longer rides (60 odd miles with around 5500ft of climbing) and we ride at least 4 days a week as a group, I try everyday (this is why I stopped working afterall) but have been somewhat distracted by Golf

I didn't realise just how bad your luck had gone with the Trans Wales Mike! That sucks. Better luck next year for (I assume) Scotland!

no idea on climbing, but very little of the ride was flat.

i can't wait to get back to swansea, where my local trails have about 1,000ft elevation. and just up the road is afan and cwmcarn

Where are you living then Insert ??

35-40 with that amount of climbing is fine,   once a week for me,  but 4 days a week my legs can't take it.

GOLF hey,  thats a waste of a good walk there.

Mike, are you joining us for the Mash Up next weekend at Afan?

Dyl - I'm currently in Plymouth visiting Family and getting fixed (leg) but I live in San Jose (California) now. About 50 minutes or so drive from Repack / Marin and about the same from Santa Cruz. My training ride takes me up Mt Hamilton or if I fancy it I can ride over the mountains into Santa Cruz, have a beer on the beach then get the bus back home.

I used to think Golf was a pointless waste of free time as well. Then I tried it

I will if i can find a way there, but atm, it's seemingly unlikely, i'm as poor as a poor thing. also, the race entry is like £40...

California Sounds nice,  good life style you've got there,  whats up with the leg!!

Well,  I've already paid people to shoot me if I ever start playing it!!
