I subconsiously pack 15-20 ltrs of water for any event I enter ... ?Part of the magic for me is that the event is in the middle of nowhere with, er, no facilities - other than the portaloos, catering, event village … etc that the guys bring in.

hmmm i see a business opportunity here - who's up for chipping in for a few big water bowsers. We can sell a cup of tap water for 10p each
Bloody hell, calm down Rectum Bold, loads of events don't have water, even those that do usually run out! I always take enough water to last me to these events, it's not rocket science!
I too always take my own water to any event I go to. If you have too much, you can always get rid of it. But if you dont have enough, your dooooomed.....
i'm normally always take water with me, best to be self sufficient and all that. only when i did the d2d last year i was in a rush and forgot to take my own supply, turning up at the event with not much time to spare and finding there wasn't a tap, and not realising this before i left. cue a mad rush to the nearest shop for some water!

Sod the water - how about a Beer Bowser. More my style! Tim

Look out for the ladies Team ACTiV. Our very own Lovely Deb rides the whole event on red wine and is usually in the top three! The events success is actually gauged by how many bottles there are left at the end!
Where they have the event is miiiiiles away from the visitor centre, which is where the water is...
Coll is right. You don't need water. If you feel the red wine is too much, you can move on to guinness. If you use it while you're riding, which I recommend (it's packed with carbs and vitamins) you'll need a helmet light to free up the bottle cage for your can of extra cold, which will fit in just nicely.

No water available on site. Ridiculous.
It's a forest? I bet you're the kind of guy that complains when you get a present that it's the wrong colour.
Deb, they need to lighten up a bit, I think they're missing the whole point! I am gutted not to be joining you this year. Apparently the guys team are secretly in for a bit of a challenge, just make sure you keep ahead of them, they are both far too cocky for their own good. Thank goodness you can handle your Guinness and they are a couple of lightweights!

Yeah, far too serious. Lush and I will give it our best shot. Fingers (and tits) crossed!
First ladies pair! Well done Deb, how much Guinness did it take?
As an aside - when do they typically open the registration for this event as we have a 3 man team waiting in the wings? It was closed by the time we got around to it this year, so rode the Viking Challenge instead. Also, are there other events such as this left this year? Tim
I think the entry forms came out around about July, it only sold out in the last few weeks, so no mad rush to enter really. The only event that seems to sell out within a few days is Mountain Mayhem. Jason (slowly recovering from 10 laps of D2D on a rigid single speed)
Hmm, must remeber to log in under my own username!
OK. Thanks. Is there anything left this year to ride in? Otherwise, see ya in 2008 I guess! Tim
 You can't ride that there!
