I've had my trusty Cateye Eduro 8 for 3-4 yrs and it's been totally dependable.

However, last night it thought that I'd been riding for 3.5hrs when in reality it'd been nearer half that. Over the past couple of months I've also noticed that the Total mileage hasn't been correct but that the individual ride mileages tally with mi pals.

Has anyone else experience this/similar? Could it be due to a tired battery, dodgy pickup or another?

As I've never changed the battery, I'll plop and new one in and see if that helps.

I found that my cateye cordless 3 could really be arratic when climbing (slower speeds) but fine on the flat. Found the solution in that the wheel magnet was not passing the little line on the sensor, so although the looked close enough the height was wrong. its quite easy to knock the sensor out of possition when you putting a wheel in.

But a new battery is always a good start!

I adjusted my pickup sensor from the jaunting angle it seemed to have adopted to be more vertical.

Seem to work a treat again.

Really must get a battery tho.
