Thinking of putting some new shiny pimpy bars (risers) on my Wolf Ridge. Quite like the Easton jobbies, but any other ideas??

Azonic UltraCross. £50 but very strong and look pretty good. I have black ones but you can get silver too.

Put Race Face on mine, to get something narrower and lower rise than the way Easton's come out of the box.

Riser bar review in MBR a few months back. Easton monkeylite carbon risers came 10/10 best of test. Or if you want really pimpy / money no object then the monkeylite SL carbon riser is the ridiculously-light-but-a-little-narrower bar of choice (In My Humble Opinion, of course). But then there's those Race Race carbon + titanium mesh riser bars....

Just put some Easton EA50's on my Spesh on Sunday and they are great. Cheap, look good, feel perfect and i am more than happy with them. Already considering buying another set for my other MTB and am finding it hard to justify going for a more expensive bar (carbon etc) as the EA50's seem perfect.

If you are a weight weeny then you might want to go for the monkeylite SL or similar but the price increases 3 or 4 times over. £100 for a bar is a lot of cash.

i back the Easton EA50's. Been running these along with matching stem and seatpost for 3 years and they do what they're supposed to do for a good price. Again theyre not the lightest but unless you are a racer who cares.
I have EA30's that are cheap, feel great and all that guff. Want to get some risers for another bike and am thinking RF air alloys which would then go on my Cove and the EA30's go to the Marin.

So in answer I'd go for Easton's (50's being a bit better looking than 30's but a bit more) or Air Alloys.

EA70's = perfect.

get the low rise one's, they are just a great shape and width, nuff said.
Just put some 28" wide Race Face DH bars on my Marin WR!

Feels much better than the standard bars.

No more wrist ache either as myarms are straight in front now as opposed to tilted inward.

I also have the Azonic ultra-cross bars (black) and they've lasted a feckin long time with no problems and as IJ says "they look pretty good".

Does anyone out there still prefer flats and bar ends?

It's just that everytime I've done over 20 miles on risers, I've ended up with knackered wrists due to no alternative hand positions.

EA50's or EA70's then (weight not really an issue either!)

Alun, are you being serious or taking the p?

Surely no one rides that combo?

Risers with bar ends? Aye - know a few who run that combo to get both control + different hand positions. Even considering it myself (sad confession time).

I saw a bloke with risers and bar ends the other day. It looked so good that i put a bag over his head, threw him in the boot of my car, took him out to some waste ground, put him on his knees and popped a cap in his sorry ass. Mother ******!!
