the same but cheaper?

I know it’s a bit pikey but what cheaper alternative would people suggest to a folding Panaracer Fire XC Pro. Love the tyre but I also need headset, cassette .....etc etc.

£15 instead of £22
OK, cheap AND light.
Bontrager ACX Kevlars 520 gms around £18 each, similar square knobs as Fire XC's and just as grippy. Steel bead a tad heavier (not too noticeable TBH) at bargain £10 each.

Call Lewis at Planet Bikes for best price.

Continental Verticals £12.99 steel bead.

Continental Explorers are a good budget choice.

Why do all but one of MBR's 'Tyres for a Tenner' cost more than £10.00?

Wire bead Vertical Pros are a decent buy, or for drier conditions, the Conti Gravity wired beads - same price I think - would be worth a look, though I've not used them myself.

What is the weight difference between steel & kevlar bead for a Fire XC?

I've always stuck with steel, am I missing something?

According to the weight weenies site it's around 135 grammes per tyre, which is either not very much or quite a lot because it's rotating weight. It's all about perspective.

So, for two wheels that's around 270 grammes. To be honest though, while the lighter tyres will probably feel a bit zippier, it ain't going to change your life.
