Any advice re fast tyres for the summer that grip reasonably when it rains, currently have some racing ralphs, find them a bit skittish unless very dry.
Speed is important and I like to run 2.25 which I realise slows things down abit.
Currently thinking of Michelins or Nobby Nicks

Any advice very welcome

Nobby nics - a lot of peo[le seem to run a nic up front & leave a ralph on the rear.

I've run my nics since October & they've handled most of the conditions I've ridden in thru'winter.

You want kenda small block 8's.
They come in 2.1 or 2.35, but as you're running schwalbe 2.25's which are small the 2.1 kenda's will be the same size in reality.

I've been using a NN/RR combo, and it does seem quite impressive to be honest.

My favourite summer tyre is the Conti Speed King, these are faster than RRs IMO (certainly in the Supersonic guise), but are far more predictable in the wet.

I've used Michelin tyres for quite a while now when i want a fast rolling one i use the all mountain expert in 2.2 dual compound fastest rolling 2.2 i've used and it's wider than a lot of 2.3's but most of the time i use the mountain Xtrem in 2.2 dual compound which i find are more robust and have more grip the downside is that they are heavier and not as fast rolling as the all mountains but imho both tyres i find are really good and i'm really fussy with my tyres i've spent loads of money trying different ones out and always go back to the Michelins.

Agree with Clocky, highly recommend the Small Block 8's for fast tyres. really looking forward to the races this year now i have some decent fast tyres.

I'm using Maxxis Bling Bling Lopez which have very low centre tread so quick rolling but have normal side knobs so no compromise in quick cornering. Well happy with them :)

Panaracer Razers are quicker than Racing Ralphs and very grippy in the dry (only in the dry!), they are great for moorland, fireroad, forest singletrack, but definitely not for really rocky terrain as they are wafer thin.

Ritchey Speedmax Alpha and Omega WCS. ;)

Now that takes me back John! I also run the NNs from Schwalbe and find them fairly predictable in most conditions (deep mud and loose stone being the Achilles heal).

Thanks Guys

Tried the RR's again and shredded them on wet flints, going back to my Kenda's.
Thanks for advice, shame really they did fly!
