cheers john what the estimated ride time and do i need a lock for the tea and cake shop if i can make it
About 3-4 hours. Tbh I hadn't thought about locks either. I don't suppose it would hurt to bring one
cheers i will try make it . thanks
hi john ive just checked routefinder and found the road you mentioned but not sure where to stop or the street name so if you could point me in the right direction when you get home that would be great. cheers
I think the road is Harden Road. As you head north out of Bingley town centre on the old Keighley-Bradford road, turn left opposite the fire station, cross over the river then head up the hill towards Harden, there's a huuuuge sign on the right saying St Ives Estate - that be where it is. BTW don't go on the Bingley bypass unless you fancy going via Keighley here

cheers mate i know the most of how to get there as i used to be stationed at shipley but that was a few years ago. is it a ride with some bumps i may appreciate my full bounce over my hardtail ?
well I'll be on my hardtail, but that's out of necessity (bouncer is in the shop). I'd prefer my full bounce but TBH most trails round here can be ridden on a hardtail. I can't think of anywhere on the route that NEEDS full suspension, except perhaps the Manywells steps, but even those aren't as bad as they used to be
Some folks even ride fully rigid, and some even do it without any gears :-0
and the huuuuge sign seems to have gone. it's about 3/4 mile on the right after you've left Bingley town centre
i'll see how the mood takes me then cheers

Occasional North Leeds Rider eavesdropping here, Ireland bridge in Bingley was closed last weekend, and suspect may be for some time. If this is the case, you need approach St Ives from the other (Harden) side. Have a good one, Laurence
yes, good point Laurence, I spotted that earlier but it didn't register. So it's St Ives from Baildon through Cottingley, Wilsden & Harden then. Will need to set off a bit earlier.
Or there's the Keighley diversion...hmm
my number is oh-seven-95-six 42-six-one-24 if you're running late (or maybe I am)
