wow. I've just spent 10 minutes trying to post that link using IE. I'm now using Safari & it's flying.
WTF is wrong with IE?

Good luck to all Mayhem riders - may the sun be with you

Thanks for the ride John. Good to be back out again
 You're welcome.
Nice to get out again (second time this week, I must keep it up)

Thanks to Jane for the food and the rest of the "homage to fromage" team for making me do Mayhem. It was an experience. I'm just glad the weather was better than last year's. Also Massages are great!
is that it? details, man, details...

yes pretty decent weather really. I thought it a far more interesting course than the last one I did (the hot dry one, way back in 06) Kenda climb more tolerable, but I still hate it. Enough tech bits to wake you up now and then - far from 'riding around a field'. Pretty hard work in places - but rewarded by some damn good descending at the end. Team had a more or less trouble free ride with no punctures or mechanicals, apart from a slight glitch with Darren's lights. Sturmey suffered a cramp attack on Sun, but otherwise no injuries that I know of. I've no idea of results yet, but hopefully we'll be in the first half of our class, as indeed we nearly always are ; )

Thanks for pesuading me to do Mayhem guys. I really enjoyed it, great course, great company and no crashes - that must be a first for me!! Can only imagine how different (horrenedous) it would have been if the weather had been less kind to us. But hey the sun shone for much of the time so it was great.

can I just say a MASSIVE well done to North Leeds Homage to Fromage who were 44th out of 123 mixed teams at Mayhem! congratulations

Hi guys, Have a good ride tonight - I have a mountain of work to do tonight so I can't make it, but I should be able to do Thursday instead. Failing that, see you next Tues!
Thursday ride: The Malt Shovel, Harden, near Bingley if nothing else planned. A hilly one, but quite short, about 11 miles. Social pace, all welcome etc nearly forgot: 7.30pm start, although we could make it a little bit later if people need to get over from Leeds

Apologies - somewhat OT - however where is the 'best' place to watch the Otley Road racing tomorrow. Will have two young children with me so may need to make an early exit. Any advice on viewing point (or parking)? And very well done to the 'Homage to Fromage' contingent - damn good effort - exactly what was in that sticky toffee pudding?
depends what you want Paul. If it's speed and the possibility of a crash then inside of bend opposite Chevin cycles. If it's a bit of a look at how the riders are suffering and more than a blurred glance of who's who, then the hill after the junction going towards supermarket car park is best. A lot of the breaks go away on the birdcage but it's a bit far from town with two kids in tow.
