Yes

I should be able to make Harden by 18:30ish next Wednesday (unless I get sent somewhere impossible by work).

John

really enjoyed the route yesterday, I was feeling a bit fitter than normal so even enjoyed the steep up bits :-). I would like to give those rocks in Spring Wood another go!

I mean Buck Wood not Spring Wood - I've just had another look at the map!

Glad everybody enjoyed it - we'll have to do it again some time, maybe I'll be able to clear that first section of Buck Wood.

I'll see if I can find a more interesting way across Hawksworth as well...

IF WE MEET AT THE MALT SHOVEL IN HARDEN AT 6.30 NEXT WEDNESDAY THEN. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO A LINK SHOWING WHERE THAT IS (BUT PERHAPS A PROGRAMMER DOES!)BUT IF YOU COME FROM BINGLEY FOLLOW THE ROAD TO HARDEN. AT THE MINI ROUNDABOUT IN HARDEN TURN LEFT TOWARDS WILSDEN AND STEPHEN SMITHS, FOLLOW THE ROAD DOWN THE HILL AND THE MALT SHOVEL IS IN THE DIP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL.

I know where you mean - it's here, just below Stephen Smiths

John,
Good ride on Tuesday. In Devon now and looking forward to my planned ride in Exmoor.

Have a good ride on Wed from Harden, Malt Shovel a good place to start from and a good hand pulled pint of Tetley's when you have finished!!

Guys

I've just had some bad news. Got up this morning to find that my bike has been stolen.

Guess I won't be out riding this evening!

Julian/Tom
Sh1t! Was it insured? Feckin b@stard bike theives :-(
Try posting messages on here and on singletrackworld.com to see if anyone's seen it (give a description of the bike). Also, give the bike shops in Leeds/Bradford a shout - if it gets offered to them they may be able to do something...

Bad luck and hope you find it/another bike soon.

aside from that - who's coming out tonight? I will be :-)

Bad luck Julian - hope you get it back/replaced.

I'll be out tonight - should be able to get there for 6.30. does anyone need directions?

That's really harsh. Bad luck Julian.

I won't be out tonight I'm afraid. I'd be interested to know what route you are going on though for future reference.

John, where are you meeting? How many are going to be there?

Mike

we're meeting in Harden, near Bingley, at the Malt Shovel at 6.30 - do you know where that is? I've posted a link to Streetmap on the previous page...

I don't know what Andy has planned, no doubt we'll find out tonight!

At the last count there are 3 definites & 3 definitely nots; but there may be more :)

Yeah I know where it is. I had afew drinks there there when I was a teenager!

How fit is everyone? I don't wanna get left behind! ;-)

don't worry about that - I'm ALWAYS the last one up any hills :-) !

Thats a relief!!

Well, provided there isn't a pile up on the M62 (I work in Manchester), I'll see you all at 6.30!!

Hi Guys

Thanks for your posts

The bike was insured but probably not to it's full value (I had recently upgrade to Pace Rc38 fromt forks and Fox Float RC rear shock) and could not insure it to it's full value anyway as the house insurance only accepts bikes up to a max £1400 value. So I will get £1350 after the excess is taken.

I will ring around the bike shops as suggested but don't think there is much chance.

But may be off riding now for a couple of weeks until the insurance is sorted and I get a new steed!

Pi@sed off or what:-(

Julian

if it's any use, my wife says you can borrow her bike - it's a Gary Fisher Advance hardtail, size small, 21sp, mechanical disk brakes...
Julian - I suppose you could take heart in the fact that loads of last years bikes will soon be getting heavy discounts - so you may be able to pick up a real nice bike (well, one immeasurably better than mine) for reasonably cheap...

I heard you got some new forks...

Tonight we have:

Andy (I hope so anyway, as it's his ride!)
John
Neil
Mike

Anyone else? Or is it a cheap round afterwards then?
