Chevin car park grid ref: long 21676, lat44261. The car is just off the East Chevin road from Otley. If you see a sculpted tree trunk and a huge pile of gravel you're there.
Good good... Any ideas of a route yet? Just wondering whether to ask the g/f along or not...
Most of the rights of way on the Chevin are very easy riding.
Suitable for all standards of rider. It's just a bit steep in places ;o)
........ I have a route in mind, it's not difficult and includes a couple of reasonable descents.
Kewel - I'll there @ 6.30. I ran the idea past the missus last night, but I don't know if she's coming out or not...
saw you all there last nite those who turned up when you meeting again as i would like to go. would have gone today but i was cream crackered. you all seemed like a friendly bunch. see you later.
How many turned up - and did you have a good ride? Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one.
........ four in total, we had a good ride around the area. We plan to make it a regular thing, maybe taking in some Sunday rides as well. Send me you Email address and I'll do the organising.
It was good fun, even i who live only a few miles from the Chevin rode stuff i'd never ridden before.
Worth turning up. We are actually quite nice people really ;o)
Erm, oops. I think I must have been in the wrong place then! Post it up here when you're next out and I'll try to be a little more careful with reading the grid ref of the meeting place! Had a good ride on my own though...
Where's next weeks ride starting from?
Day & time as well:-)
...a few of us are meeting at Buckden (just past kettlewell) car park, Sunday 10:00am. We'll hopefully be out for about 4 to 5 hours, everyone is welcome. Wednesday 22nd looks good for the next evening ride ........... any suggestion for a route.
WRT a route for Wednesday 22 how about meeting at the in the Alwoodley Pub car park on Harrogate Road (on the rhs of the A61 after turning North towards Harrogate off the ring road - grid ref SE439400) & then doing: -
Brandon Farm Wike School Lane BW Harewood Estate Eccup Whin Woods Meanwood Valley Trail Scotland Woods Alwoodley PH
About 15 miles, plenty of single track!
Anybody up for it?
........ sounds good to me, what time do you want to meet, any idea of the name of the pub.
I'll certainly try and make it. Anyone need a lift from north west Leeds area ?
Hi
I'm not around tomorrow, but Dougs keen to play. Is that the correct grid reference is near garforth? - don't know the area very well.
What time are you meeting?
.......grid ref looks fine to me, just off the A61 Leeds/Harrogate Rd. How about meeting at 18:00??
The pub is called 'The Alwoodley' I think -I will check this evening.
Never the less it is the only pub on Harrogate Road (A61) after heading North towards Harrogate from the ring road about 500yards from the ring road on the right.
Meeting time of 18:00 is too early suggest 18:30 at earliest or 19:00 even better. Still time for a drink after the ride if the weather is OK
Jeff to decide start time - you started this thread.
