check out the 'Off Road Lights' thread I posted in the Kit Forum...there's a link in there to a 'diy light' site
Neil - where did you get your bits from?
Has anyone tried the Ni-cad Smarts - they're £33 from Terrain currently?
I can't make it again folks. i'm in newcastle again doing battle with the legendary "reversing revolving doors". Have a good ride tho!
Carlton - I'm thinking the same thing...
I have a set of Smarts. The lights are fine, the bracket is dodgy. I'm currently trying to think of a more secure way of fastening them to the handlebars. For 30 quid though, you can't go wrong.

All the bits are from maplin and B&Q and stuff I had lying around. They're a bit heavy but very bright! I'll draw up a parts list...
Limicycle are good, but they are expensive - £165 ish for a twin light set with fast charger.
They're expensive as the battery is very light. As with any rechargeable battery you have to look after it. I will be light-less this evening as mine packed up - but Lumicycle are sorting it so hopefully I will be illuminated next week.
Hope somebody will let me ride in their trial tonight when it gets dark :-)

What no empty washing up liquid bottles and double sided sticky tape?
20W + 35W - christ that IS bright! Do you fool planes into trying to land on you?
Nope but I scared the sh1t out of a motorist last night!
 Heh heh heh.
looks like we're all relying on my single tealight front lamp then.
Hope you had a good ride last night guys, sorry and disappointed I could not get there in time due to late problems at work!!!
Where are you riding next week? interested to see Neil's home made lights (and the trailer for the battery). Looking at that long list of parts and the time to rig it all up, think I will take the easy option and buy a decent set of helmet lights!
Hi Guys, Good ride last night?
Yep, but it got dark & rained before we finished...could've used your 'brighter than a thousand suns' lights!
Excellent ride - I can see why people love riding at night. All the more fun when you have very little light to help you find the best line though ;¬)
Next weeks ride we thought could be from the Royalty car park above the Chevin. What do you think? Possibly Thursday again as well.
Yep, top ride. It had a mixture of everything.
Why do company directors have to appear and spoil things. I've got to go to Birmingham on Thursday/Friday next week. That means Tuesday and Wednesday are my only good days.
 Any day's ok for me
Yes - The chevin would be good. Not been riding round there in a while... Any day is good for me.
Oh, and BTW my car still isn't fcuking fixed - they sold me the wrong bit aaarrrrrrggghhh!
