Oh go on then. Shoulder Of Mutton, Otley Road, Baildon (bottom of the hill from Guiseley), Tuesday 7.30pm. Lights will be necessary. Mosquito repellant may be useful too.
Baildon is a bit of a trek for me without a car and I've been offered an evening Scuba diving tomorrow so will look out for the ride next week. Cheers, James
Mr Badger, you was asking about Lightwater: - well it's just an old skool 'XC' event (can we still call 'em that?) that has been going since early 90's. Summat like three 1/2 hour laps; bit of woods, bit of hardpack, through a quarry, some grassy field stuff, along a railway line, some hills, the odd tunnel, dodge under the roly coaster, through the deserted theme park - usual kinda thing.
Not gnarly in any way, but not as boring as it might seem - has more of 'mini enduro' feel than some xc's. It's in November so will be either crisp & cool or muddy & draggy - the latter being more common.
There's bugger all else bikey happening at that time of year, so it's summat to do for a laugh. Loads of other Nth Leeds'ers have done through the years - had good turnouts in the past. Don't take it too seriously and you will enjoy.
