Rob - I expressed interest but will have to say no - it's the other half's birthday.... the date rang a bell - that's why I was a bit hesitant when you said the 4th. She wasn't impressed when I double checked....
would be nice birthday treat - a ride out in the country, spend the night watching the glow of distant HID's flickering through the trees - reet romantic like.
Anyway, no worries, we'll enter as three - plenty for 12 hrs really.
No idea what the weather will do but its sunny and clear here in York so my fingers are crossed for a nice night. I've even managed to remember to charge my lights!
The next Chevin Cycles Trails & Ales ride will be on Sunday 14th September. We will meet at the car and coach park in Pateley bridge (the one on the right before the bridge coming from Greenhow direction) and leave at 10:00 for a ride of about 20 miles that will include Ramsgill, Middlesmoor, Scar House, Dale Edge and Bouthwaite . We will be out for at least five hours so riders need to bring plenty to eat and drink and suitable clothing. All are welcome and, as always, the pace will be "social"; nobody gets left behind .
Thanks to 'Stairmaster' Jules for last nights, mostly, mud free urban assault. Even had me doing sets of stairs at the Uni - a first! Cheers to Paul and Kev for completing the posse.
May I recommend the "Hawksworth Woods Steps of DEATH"
Disclaimer. Attempting to ride Hawksworth steps may cause side effects including but not restricted to Broken limbs, Decreased breathing, Reduced heart rate & Cessation of brain activity.
Leeds seems to have a lot of other fun stair sets to play on.
I'm no step-master mind, it has taken me a good few years (no kidding) to get up the nerve to launch over the top of the last set we did last night - but once you've done it you just want to do it again.
Don't like the sound of the Hawksworth Woods Steps Gringered but would n't mind going for a look - have you got a grid reference?
